Getting to Messina
Messina sits right on the Strait, the gateway between Sicily and the mainland, and you can reach it in more than one way: by plane, by ferry across the Strait, by train, by car, or with our event shuttle. Pick the option that suits you best and plan your trip to Arena Capo Peloro.
Find your way to Messina
Messina has no airport of its own: almost everyone flies into Catania and hops over to Messina. Pick a city, pick a way to travel.

The practical bits
The gateways
- Catania (CTA) — the main hub. Direct flights from most of Europe, then SAIS bus to Messina ~1h40.
- Reggio Calabria (REG) — the closest airport, just across the Strait (hydrofoil ~20 min).
- Lamezia (SUF) — the most flights; then train + ferry. Palermo (PMO) further west.
The Strait crossing
- One of the most scenic short crossings in Italy — about 20 min (allow more in August).
- On foot: Blu Jet hydrofoil, ~€2.50 one-way, frequent crossings.
- With a car: Caronte & Tourist / Bluferries ferries, 24/7 (car from ~€37).
From Messina to the arena
- Arena Capo Peloro (Torre Faro) is ~13 km north of central Messina, on the very tip of Sicily.
- Taxi ~15–20 min · ATM Messina coastal bus toward Torre Faro ~45–60 min.
- Official shuttle and traffic plan (ATM/City) for 2 August: TBD
Shuttle & parking
- Event shuttle — routes, times, last trip, price and booking: TBD
- Parking at the arena — areas, capacity and rates: TBD
